Polynomial Video

After watching the polynomial video I hadn't learned anything to new. But one thing I learned was that an equation with 3 monomials is call a trinomial. Something that is cleared up for me is that I realized that unlike terms can not be combined whatsoever. Even though that video didn't teach me much, it cleared up a little bit on polynomials for me.

Money Saving Tips

Article 1

With gas prices being out of the roof in the summer I decided to look at an article with hybrid cars vs. normal cars. This article relates to my parents because they have a commute of 70 miles. That is about 350 miles a week if they commute together, and you can't forget to add on trip to the store and other places. I chose this article because I wanted to see if hybrids actually saves you money. The article says that a hybrid car will save you $565 a year in gas. But the article also says that the high price of the car will not save you money until you reach 100,000 miles. Also, hybrids have higher maintenece fees. After reading that article I realized that hybrid cars do not save you money

Article 2

Like most people in the summer I get hot during the night, and when the fan cannot keep you cool I can't sleep. So I looked at an article about a fan that goes under your top cover and over the bottom cover. It is a lot cheaper to run than the a/c and uses less electricity. It is only $90 and is a very quit machine. I think the bedfan would be right for me because it saves electricity, keeps me cool, and runs quitely.

How Much Money I Spend on Gasoline

If I were an average American, I would drive 30 miles each day from work and back. That would equal 210 miles each week. If I were Mrs.Dominico and drove 350 miles each week, it would cost me about $43 each week in gas. To get that number I did 350/24 x 3 which equals about 43. To find how much it would cost you a month in gas the equation would be 1500(number of miles drove in a month) /mpg x  p= total coast of gas for a month. I still think I would stick with my choice of a car even after looking at those hybrid cars.

My first car

When I have to choose a car for myself in about 4 years I would choose an unexpensive, cool car that gets good gas mileage. My choice for a car would be a Dodge Charger. It is only 22 thousand dollars, which is a cheap price for a cool car. My Charger could hold 18 gallons of gas, and would get an average of 24 mpg. That would get me about 340 miles per tank. If my job was 10 miles away I would have to fill up about every other week. To fill up every other week would cost me about 55 dollars if I run the tank down to 1 gallon in the tank. My fuel cost per year would be 1430 dollars at that rate. That is why I would choose a Dodge Charger for my first car.
